How to change your wireless channel on Sky
If your electronic devices or your neighbour’s network slow down your home network and internet connection, change the wireless channel on your router to communicate on a different frequency to avoid interference. This is a good thing to do if your internet regularly drops out, or you have unusually slow WiFi, especially during lockdown.
Make sure you’re connected to your home broadband network
Open your browser and type 192.168.0.1 into your address bar.
When prompted enter the following details:
password: sky (or it could be your WIFI password (case sensitive) on newer routers)
Now you should be logged in:
- Select Setup or Wireless Settings.
- Click the Channel drop-down and select a number (or auto, which doesn’t always work) different to the one you’re on.
- Click Apply
- Repeat as required
